Jewish Learning and Resources

Explore. Learn. Question. Discover.

Judaism has a rich tradition of learning, questioning, discussion, and discovery.

Whether you are exploring Judaism for the first time, returning after many years, looking more deeply into Jewish practice, or simply curious, the resources below offer reliable places to begin.

You don't have to know where to start. Follow what interests you.

Start Here

My Jewish Learning
An excellent general starting point for exploring Judaism. My Jewish Learning offers accessible articles on Jewish beliefs, holidays, Torah, history, lifecycle events, prayer, food, culture, Israel, and contemporary Jewish life. It is useful for beginners as well as those looking to explore a familiar subject more deeply.

Sefaria
A remarkable free digital library of Jewish texts in Hebrew and translation. Explore Torah, Tanakh, Mishnah, Talmud, Midrash, commentaries, Jewish philosophy, Halakhah, liturgy and much more. Sefaria also allows users to follow connections between texts and create or explore source sheets.

United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ)
USCJ provides resources for Jewish learning, religious practice, congregational life, holidays, community, and contemporary Jewish life.

Prayer, Torah & Jewish Practice

Jewish learning isn't limited to books and libraries. It also happens through prayer, celebration, food, music, ritual, family traditions, conversation, and community.

Begin here at JCM. Our website includes growing resources about Shabbat, Jewish holidays, Torah, prayer, traditions, recipes, and Jewish life. We hope these pages help answer both practical and larger questions: How do we celebrate Sukkot? What is this week's Torah portion? Why do we do this?

For further exploration:

Go directly to the sources: read the weekly Torah portion, explore Torah, Tanakh, Mishnah, Talmud, Midrash, commentaries, Jewish philosophy, Jewish law and liturgy. Compare translations and interpretations, follow connections between texts, or trace a question through centuries of Jewish discussion and debate. You can also explore source sheets created by learners and teachers around the world.
