Brad Kolodny is the President of the Jewish Historical Society of Long Island and has photographed more than 600 synagogues in 13 countries over the last 30+ years. He has worked for The New York Times since 1996 and is an active member at Midway Jewish Center in Syosset, NY. From Great Neck to Montauk, Brad has visited and documented every current and former synagogue building on Long Island including The Jewish Center of the Moriches.
His new book Seeking Sanctuary: 125 Years of Synagogues on Long Island is the first comprehensive look at the history of the Jewish community in Nassau and Suffolk counties in New York. The hardcover coffee table book features over 350 original photographs and archival images that document every synagogue building on Long Island, past and present.
Brad will have copies of his book for sale and signing after the presentation.
Light refreshments will be served.
