Brad Kolodny: Speaking on his book :"Seeking Sanctuary" Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM

Brad Kolod­ny is the President of the Jewish Historical Society of Long Island and has pho­tographed more than 600 syn­a­gogues in 13 coun­tries over the last 30+ years.  He has worked for The New York Times since 1996 and is an active mem­ber at Mid­way Jew­ish Cen­ter in Syos­set, NY.   From Great Neck to Mon­tauk, Brad has vis­it­ed and doc­u­ment­ed every cur­rent and for­mer syn­a­gogue build­ing on Long Island including The Jewish Center of the Moriches.

His new book Seek­ing Sanc­tu­ary: 125 Years of Syn­a­gogues on Long Island is the first com­pre­hen­sive look at the his­to­ry of the Jew­ish com­mu­ni­ty in Nas­sau and Suf­folk coun­ties in New York. The hard­cov­er cof­fee table book fea­tures over 350 orig­i­nal pho­tographs and archival images that doc­u­ment every syn­a­gogue build­ing on Long Island, past and present.

Brad will have copies of his book for sale and signing after the presentation.
