Countdown To Rosh Hashanah

During the week between Selichot and Rosh Hashanah we will expand on what Cantor Star Wahnon has emphasized earlier in this month of Elul.
This is an important time of reflection and preparation for the Days of Awe. Each day leading up to Rosh Hashanah, we will post points of reflection. This will take less time than you'd think, but it should be quite productive. We begin with Hineini. Hineini is a small but powerful word in the Torah.
Abraham says it when God calls to him. Moses responds this way at the burning bush. Samuel answers the call with the same word.
It means more than simply "I'm here."
It suggests: I am present. I am listening. I am ready.
Before teshuvah - before deciding what we need to change — we can begin simply by paying attention.
